Carl.Philipp.Emanuel.Bach plays a significant role in the history of both western music and piano art. His writing work Essay on the True Art of Playing Keyboard Instruments makes a conclusion of theory of playing keyboard instrument during the Baroque period, which discusses the art of piano in detail and guides its development. This book has not been systematically studied in China and not translated into Chinese. This paper depends on the English version published in 1949. In this paper, the author will study C.P.E. Bach's theory of fingering, embellishments, performance and accompaniment in order to explore C.P.E. Bach's theory of playing piano and teaching, analyze his deep influence to today's piano art, and recognize his contribution to the piano art history.
