The auxiliary verbs is a group of words belong to verbs,and it has its own particular grammatical function.The paper mainly presents a comprehensive and systematic study of auxiliary verbs in the Liudujijing on the basis of previous achievement.Thirteen characters ke (可),keyi(可以),de(得),neng(能),zu(足),yu(欲),gan(敢),yuan(愿),ken(肯),dang(当),yi (宜),ying(应),xv(须)are studied in detail.The author illustrates grammar features of the sentence structure of the auxiliary verbs in the Liudujijing,are made in order to track the evolvement of assertion sentences in Chinese.Firstly,we give a brief introduction of the auxiliary verbs concerning its name,concept of parts of speech and its position in the phrase system.Moreover,we bring up the present of state of research in the auxiliary verbs,the present problem and present our own standpoint in the contrast.Secondly,we study specifically the auxiliary verbs in Liudujijing.We analyze and describe specially the auxiliary verbs in this book one by one.Then,we sort out the system of the auxiliary verbs in Liudujijing in some degree.There are 13 auxiliary verbs in Liudujijing which is divided into three paper:the auxiliary verbs for possibility,the auxiliary verbs for wish and the auxiliary verbs to ought to.We observe and study every auxiliary verbs in usage,putting great emphasis on the type of syntactical structure in which every monosyllabic auxiliary verbs appears.Finally,we compare the usage of the auxiliary verbs in Liudujijing with those in ancient and medieval books,we discover that there are some changes of the auxiliary verbs and explain the changes from the standpoint of pragmatics.
