Jin Shengtan(1608–1661) was one of the most successful critics in Chinese ancient novel criticizing history. His comment on Heroes of the Marshes is unique and its contribution on Chinese novel theory is amazing. But academic circles hardly pay attention to his acceptance aesthetic in a long time. This thesis tries to make a specialized study on Jin Shengtan's acceptance aesthetic and it is discussed from following several parts:The first part: form background and origin about Jin Shengtan's acceptance aesthetic. Jin Shengtan's acceptance aesthetic was formed in the late Ming Dynasty which had specifically cultural background. It was viewed mainly from three aspects, namely individuation trend from the end of the Ming Dynasty to the beginning of Ching Dynasty; Time opportunity of the talented person but unrecognized; starting and popularity of novel comment.The second part: Jin Shengtan how to elucidate subject status and active effect when readers accept literary works. It includes Jin shengtan's reader consciousness. Besides, he elucidated readers should actively understand and imagine as well as emotionally experience when they accept literary works.The third part: Jin Shengtan how to elucidate subjective activity and reader's position with doing critic. From literary critic angle to further discuss Jin Shengtan's acceptance aesthetic.The fourth part: significance of Jin Shengtan's acceptance aesthetic. His acceptance aesthetic has significance of reference in literary appreciation and criticism. It is reflected from three aspects: a new awareness of improving reader'status and role in the course of literary activity; dialectical awareness of all the elements including author, works, and reader in literary activities; special ethnic feature form of acceptance theory which comment and appreciation is combined together.
