Mode Of Domesticating Translation

Translation is a kind of culture transmission among languages. Translating is the process of spreading memes. When the cultures in the target language and source language are against each other, the well-used strategies to deal with them are domestication and foreignization. Synchronically meme has a larger spread by adopting domestication than foreignization. Diachronically only with the help of domestication can meme be spread successfully. The little change of the source meme is a helpful mutation. The mutation conforms to the evolution system of the meme, i.e. mutation, selection and heredity. Even in the text which is translated mainly under the foreignization strategy, domestication could be found everywhere. Foreignization is only a superficial phenomena, the deep structure of it is domestication. The process is domestication/ (explanation)â†'understanding and assimilationâ†'drop of the explaining partsâ†'foreignization. The indispensability of this mutation could be proved on the plane of reader's value and aesthetic system, as well as their thinking pattern. Therefore it's domestication which drives the meme to transmit and evolve.
