Network Words Cognitive Analysis

Internet communication has increasingly been becoming a part of our lives. With the popularity of internet communication, some of the emerging internet words are gradually affecting our lives. The occurence of the internet has caused tremendous influence and impact on social life. The impact of the internet also extends to the language , especially the words in language.As a common linguistic phenomenon, internet words are closely linked with human cognition and thinking. The occurence of the internet words is not only a social phenomenon but also a cognitive process. The thesis aims at dealing with the internet words from the perspective of cognitive linguistics and analyzing the structures and meanings of the internet words from the point of view of cognition. In terms of examples, in order to help people with a better understanding of the cognitive rules of the internet words and to enlarge and promote the internet words, the thesis also proves that metaphor and metonymy are models of cognition ; the important thinking patterns by the network users; the main resources of the internet words.
