Hegel and Nietzsche, the two endpoints, saw the spiritual history of Germany in the 19th century which actually happened in the period from Hegel to Nietzsche. Tragedies, an aesthetic category, have been interpreting men's suffering all the time, which is destined, or caused by social reality. In the second half of the 19th century, in Germany, however, tragedy aesthetics got free from Classicism represented by Hegel and entered a new era represented by Nietzsche. From the origin of the tragedy, tragedy aesthetics illustrates the transition from rational tragedies to irrational ones, from general and historical ones to individual and vivid ones. From the tragedy of nature, has a rational spirit of optimism to pessimism born of the spirit of optimism and then to force changes in Superman. Moreover, from the tragedy of the settlement and beyond speaking, it also exhibits the transformation from the pursuit on truth and justice to the existence of aesthetics and arts. No matter how much it transforms, solitude, freedom and transcendence are everlasting in tragedies. But solitude is bound to lead to tragical agony and inevitable disaster. Freedom and transcendence, however, tell us that tragedies include not only agony and death, but also rebirth, from the pain is limited to noble, inevitably, but it is beyond the spirit.
