Eagleton Theory Of Literary Production Resolve

Eagleton analyses the problem of literary production from two aspects, which are economic base and superstructure. He thinks that literature and art are not only ideology, but also a kind of production by itself which has close and complicated relationship with other social productive forms. He develops his study from the theory of literary production to the theory of cultural production gradually, deepens his understanding of the western Marxism and widens the research vision of the western Marxism. The article consists of three parts:The first part is the analysis of the theoretical origin of Eagleton's literary production theory. The article holds that Eagleton's literary production theory which absorbs and refers to the productive theory of Marx, the cultural materialism of Williams, the ideology theory of Aldus and the art productive theory of Binyamin, carries on a productive analysis of the literary practice.The second part is the comprehensive analysis and the explanation of the main contents of Eagleton's literary production theory from the five aspects: the conception of literary production, means, ingredients, essence and value judge. Through his research on the relationship between the literature as a production and the literature as an ideology, Eagleton analyses the literary production problem from two aspects: the economic base and superstructure. Through his probe to the relationship between the literary productive means and the common productive means, he discovers that the essence of literary productive means is the unity of literary productive forces and the social relationship of literary production. Eagleton offers the six ingredients of literary production and considers that the literary productive process expresses as a very complicated relationship of many structures'combination, such as common productive means, literary productive means, common ideology, literary ideology and individual ideologies of producers and consumers, and he put forwards that the essence of literary production is the aesthetic ideology production. Finally, Eagleton clarifies the value judge problem of literary production and illustrates that history comes into text indirectly. He thinks that the value of literary production is always different from the author's world outlook. He eventually comes into the text as a reader during the reading production process.The third part is the illustration of the significance and limitation of Eagleton's literary production theory. Eagleton inherits and develops the Marxism philosophy from the literary production aspect and widens the research vision of western Marxism philosophy. This kind of literary production theory which based on the productive means is a strong resist to the cultural relativism and culturalism. Meanwhile, Eagleton's literary production theory ignores the aesthetic characteristic of literary produces and the affection of the unconscious factors on the ideology.
