The art of oil painting and colorful psychology are closely related. In western painting, color plays an important part in modelling and performing way. From the large number of Western painting material, I find that psychological effect of color affects the development of western painting and formation of color style. Due to the difference of the understanding degree in colorful theory and psychology , in the Western artists' respective period, they develop a particular capacity in the human colorful performance: the symbol character of early paintings; the objective character of classical paintings; the performance character of modern painting color. With the continuous development of human colorful perception, the artists apply the material illusion of color, emotion and symbol to their creativity in drawing, and they give full play to the colorful language's charm through colorful contrast. Colorful contrast achieve the colorful psychological effect in the painting value. With the continuous development of the colorful art, the painter should not strengthen their own personality of distinctive color, but they enter full colorful performance. Only in this way, can we keep up with modern color art footsteps of the times.
