Tang Dynasty was an era in which the territorial area of china was unprecedented vast,the social and economic culture was prospered,Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges was active,national culture is merged deeply in China's history.Chinese belle painting develop into the Tang Dynasty,had made greater expansion and progress in the aspects of content,Subject matter and technique of expression.So the Tang Dynasty become the most brilliant period in history of Chinese realistic painting and plays important roles in the history of fine arts.Because of the influence in factors such as history,politics,economy,etc,the belle painting in Tang Dynasty have formed the characterized design,different from the past,i.e.represented by Zhangxuan,Zhoufang's belle painting characterized by gorgeous and plump image.Tang Dynasty-belle painting's total characteristic is regarding fat as beauty.But there were some little differences in different periods.This thesis compare and study the model,skill and technique of face's painting in order to conclude and find the unique feature of Tang Dynasty-belle painting and get the figures' Spiritual meaning.It was source and treasure-house that we were excavating and studying constantly belle painting in Tang Dynasty.There are inspire and guidance functions to today's Chinese realistic figure painting.The thesis is divided into six parts altogether:Part one:through analyzing the concept of "belle painting",the author is trying to descript the overall characteristic of belle painting in Tang Dynasty.Part two:the author exposes the reason and foundation of belle painting in Tang Dynasty from the three aspects:"theoretical foundation"," the influence of folk artists" and "the background of political factor and era".Part three:as to the model,skill and technique of belle painting,there were differences in different periods of Tang Dynasty.The author is trying to analyze the reasons of such differences by comparing the model,skill and techniques of belle painting from different periods.Part four,influence to later age.Part five,influence on peripheral country's art. Part six,influence on today's belle painting.
