The study of Huizhou poetic altar of Southern Song Dynasty mainly deals with the works of Huizhou, the origin of the Huizhou local community, native poems in Southern Song Dynasty. The environment of local economy and culture in Huizhou had a direct impact on its poetic composing. The leading 21 characters of poets included Wang Zhongchen , Zhu Song, Zhu Xi, Wang Yan, Cheng Dachang, Wang Shen, Cheng Bi,Cheng Zhun, Zhu Xiyan, Wu Shunxuan, Wu Jing, Cheng Xian, Sun Wuhui, Luo Yuan, Fang Youkai, Wu Longhan, Hu Zi, Hu Shunzhi, Wang Mengdou, Wang Zhuo and Fang Yue, whose poems totals 387. The theme can be divided into five major categories, namely answering poems, odes of longevity, odes of objects, odes of scenery and odes of the past time. In term of the writing style, it is characterized as simple and clear, connotation and profound, bold and impassioned; as for the poetic theory, Huizhou poetic altar of Southern Song Dynasty was based on the guidance of Xin'an Philosophy, which emphasized "poetry Elegancy and Correctness". Zhu Xi, Huzi, Wang Shen, Wang Yan expatiated their poetic views to have greatly affected the future generations. In the history of Huizhou poetic altar in Southern Song Dynasty, the 21 different poets had different status with different characteristics in poem composing, among whom Zhu Xi, Wang Shen, Chang Dacheng, Cheng Bi and Fang Yue took the leader. Zhu Xi's poems demonstrated a strong life concern, optimism about the life within a wide range of topics. Wang Shen uttered his ambition by panegyrizing objects whose theme focused on the natural landscape with a clear combination of texts and poems. Cheng Dachang demonstrated his pragmatism(Jing Shi Zhi Yong) with, artistically, a style of "Appropriateness of elegance and vulgarity". Cheng Bi's works had Xin Qiji's style . Fang Yue was the greatest with the highest achievements in Huizhou poetic altar of the Southern Song Dynasty. So Huizhou poetic altar of Southern Song Dynasty played an important role in the history of Tang and Song Dynasty poetic altar. In addition, Huizhou poetic altar of Southern Song Dynasty had considerable influences on the later poetry composing and theory.
