C·Buynnemerh (1902-1937)was an outstanding figure of mongolian literature at the early twentieth century. He wrote a great deal of works with high artistic standard and theoretical value during his short life. his works covered a wide range of writing such as poetry,prose,novel,drama and critics and these works are all quite dominant in their relevant fields. He was a pioneer of modern drama writing in mongolia . As to writing style . He not only inherited the tradition of mongolian ancient literature but also absorbed the literature experience of other people .he was a writer who carried on the tradition and passed on the new development concerning the writing theory and practice of mongolian literature .Based on the study on literature nature and the writing practice, he wrote the book Elementary Knowledge to Literature which was the first theoretic work on literature writing techniques. According to the two books Elementary Knowledge to Literature and The Writing Styles of Literature which were written by C·Buynnemerh, this paper was mainly studied the definitions and attitudes to the concepts of written literature and folk literature, general literature and special literature.
