Meng haoran is a representative idyllist in the glorious age of Tang dynasty. The unique charm of his countryside scenery poetries leaves him an unforgettable position in the Tang Dynasty literary. Yet, the Tang Dynasty derives from the Wei and Jin Dynasties whose culture had an extremely profound influence on Tang Dynasty, especially on Meng haoran. Mr. Wen Yiduo once said, "Meng haoran is the only person who could compete with idyllists in Wei and Jin Dynasties in both life and poem creations. He combined the personality of with the poets' demeanors in the glorious age of Tang dynasty. "This speech precisely revealed Meng's relationship with the culture of Wei and Jin Dynasties. This article attempts to discuss the relationship between Meng's poetry and Wei and Jin Dynasties demeanor, which helps us to better understand Meng and his poems.This article divides into two parts:The first part mainly discusses the influences of Wei and Jin Dynasties demeanor on Meng haoran's personality and life. Firstly, the article elaborates the relationship of Meng and Wei and Jin demeanor from the perspective of personal characters. Meng has similarity with famous literature figures in Wei and Jin Dynasties no matter in his elegant gestures, self-esteem, or innocent personality, or his lifestyle with medicine and alcohols. Secondly, Meng was deeply influenced by Wei and Jin demeanor from the perspective of the relationship between officials and anchoret. Meng has not served as an official in his whole life which has something to do with social phenomenon of the time though, but more with his admiration to Wei and Jin culture.The second part mainly discusses the Wei and Jin demeanor's influence on the content and style of Meng haoran's poetry. Firstly, from the angle of the poem content, Meng's description of cozy life has similar beauty with the elegant lifestyle advocated by Wei and Jin's scholars. Moreover, Meng often combined his poetry with the Wei and Jin people's life using the symbol of their stories and poems. Next, from the esthetical perspective, the esthetical features of Meng's poetry rooted in some cultural phenomena of the Wei and Jin Dynasties.
