Military interventions have taken place frequently in Thailand since constitutional revolution in 1932. The military have become a great important role in Thailand political stage. Military interventions is an important phenomenon in Thailand's political development, which have significance to understand the political status quo.Military interventions have a long history in Thailand. It has become a traditional part of Thai history. The first chapter of my paper focuses on analysis the history origin of military interventions. Thailand's military has become the largest number, the most organized and most modern political force because of the reform of Several Thai kings, especially the military reform. Constitutional revolution in June 24 of 1932 opened a big screen of military interventions. Hence, Military interventions have taken place frequently in Thailand, which have laid the foundation for military interventions. It has become a peculiar landscape in Thai political development.Compared with the first chapter, the second chapter analyzes the subjective and objective causes of the military interventions. As to the objective causes of military intervention, I discuss it from the political factor, the economic factor, the contagion factor and so on. I discuss the subjective causes of military intervention from the ideology, physical strength and mass basis of Thai army. Whatever type is the comprehensive result of political factors and economic factors, historical factors and modern factors, the inner factors and the outer factors, etc.The third chapter focuses on the military regimes and its evaluation. I analyze comprehensively the military regimes role in different historical periods. As to its positive impact on political development, I discuss it including stabilize order, promote economic development and influence Thai's democratization process. Military regimes also have a good many shortages.The conclution is the last. I evaluate the status of military regimes objectively. Basing on observing the military politics since mid-1990s, I point out the new trend of military regimes withdrawal from politics. I explain the new trend from the changes of international surroundings after the Cold War, the trend of world democratic politics, the attitude to the politics of Thai armies, the influence of the United Nations and so on.
