This thesis, centering on Cheng-Ho Ko, the musical educationist who has almost been forgotten by us, discusses his music achievement in Music history of neoteric and modern China. He treated the China music career and the popularization of western music as his own responsibility, activated in Beijing in 20 or 30 periods, paid out his energy to the development of our country's music education at that time. Despite he had made mistake because of historical matter, however he never gave up the pursuit of music career.Based on the investigation into the related literature, the article begins with Cheng-Ho Ko's experience about music and the background of the music education and cultural in the late 19th century of Taiwan and Japan, and after studying from Japan, he had joined some music activities in Taiwan and is one of music educationalist. On-the-spot investigating his music activities in Beijing, dividing two parts: 1. the new sphere of musical education of China.2.initating the new phase with the music activities of society. Colligates his commentary and his music activities, Sum up his musical opinion: 1. The thought of Aesthetic education. 2. Attaching importance to musical education. 3. Constructing country's new music on the base of western music. The thesis strives to affirm the value of honorific Cheng-Ho Ko's contribution to music development of China impersonally.
