Mang yuan was a kind of Magazine Lu Xun had edited. The period of Mang Yuan refers to the year from 1925 to 1927. It was a very important part in the life of Lu Xun. He got rid of the gloomy mood, retook up the pen of the literary and devoted to the literature creation after the oscillating days. In that time he scarcely wrote novels. However, he published massive essays and translations in the periodicals of literature. In his essays appeared "the criticism of civilization " and "the criticism of society". He controverted with many people toward the female normal university event and the "3·18" massacre and so on.Simultaneously his translations were also exceptionally abundant; the tendency of his translations was much defined: On one hand, he translated many articles which had the content of "the criticism of civilization " and "the criticism of society ". On the one hand, he started to pay attention to the relationship of literature and revolution. We may find it appeared some bright color in his ideas from his booklist as well as the works he encouraged the youth to translate.In that period, Lu Xun's essays and translations interacted each other much. The content of his translations related directly to his essay, while the translations had tremendous influence to his essay creation. But Lu Xun never accepted these translation ideas directly. The Mang Yuan periodical manifested the ideas of Lu Xun in that stage. Lu Xun's essays and translations contained much transformation of his ideas. Through the essays and translations published in the Mang Yuan periodical and the Yu Si periodical, we may clean up the spiritual trend of Lu Xun. It is of vital significance to explore the artistic creation of Lu Xun.
