Among the first half of 20th century, China is in a tumultuous period when a lot of famous native philosophers were molded, such as Professor Zhang Dainian who put forward a newer and better model for Chinese philosophy by writing the text"A possible integration of philosophy"since the 1930s. It is said that this idea of Zhang Dainian has connected the"materialist, ideals and analysis"together. Specifically, he proposed his unique philosophy system on the basis of the dialectical materialism of Marxist philosophy, China's traditional philosophy of ethics, life and China's traditional philosophy of simple materialism and dialectic thought. As a awake of these things, this paper explores Professor Zhang's"The New Materialism"system by studying the book"On the heaven and human"and other complement books, This whole research is done form the perspective of the above six areas.In the first section, this paper indicates the theoretical sources of Professor Zhang Dainian's philosophy, which are the Marxist dialectical materialism, Chinese traditional materialism and dialectics and western logical positivism.On the basis of the Dialectical materialism, the second section proposes the philosophy theory"Unification of sensible, rules of matter"through discussing the relationship among"materials""matters"and"rules"and finally proves that material is the primitive substance of the world, while consciousness is at the second place.In the third section, this paper stresses on the fact that the out world is independent from our consciousness and practice is the sole criterion of truth.The forth section---The conception of Social Ethics, the author proposes the conception that"Individual can not be separated form the groups, neither the groups"and"To achieve the ideal of life through fighting."The fifth section indicates Professor Zhang Dainian's conception"harmonious"which was proposed on the bases of the Dialectical materialism and the western analytical method and achieved the implementation of"A possible integration of philosophy"In the last section, the author discusses the importance of Professor Zhang Dainian's theory and shows that his theory is meaningful to both the construction of Chinese philosophy and the development of the race of China.Through the discussion of Professor Zhang Dainian's whole theory, the author hopes that this can deepened down the field of theoretical researches so as to make some contributions in the process oft constructing the harmonious society.
