Modern Chinese Is Poor Sentence Structure Types And Their Typology Significance

In the human language samples, we can see that all languages have comparative category. So the comparative construction gets widespread concerning. The previous researches of the comparative construction were more of descriptions of its syntax and semantics, and so on. And some scholars have paid attention to the Typology studies of it these years. But in the results of the previous researches, few people researched the characteristics of the comparative construction in the aspect of Typology, nor the reason of formation of the special order of comparative structure in Mandarin. This thesis attempts to study these issues. The full text is divided into six parts. We carry the text with four main parts except the introduction and conclusion.The first chapter explains the significance of the topic, reviews and analyzes the previous studies, illustrates the scope of the study and also the research methods and Corpus sources.The second chapter identifies the parameters of the comparative construction, namely, Comparing Subject, Comparing Standard, Comparing Marker and Result in Comparing. And the most important parts are Comparing Standard and Result in Comparing. We deduce the ideas and points of the thesis from the Typology Theory and related research results.The third chapter takes the comparative study of some typical dialects and Mandarin in the aspect of the position of the Comparing Subject, Comparing Standard, Comparing Marker and Result in Comparing, also the negative forms of the comparative construction. We take selective analysis of the order of the dialects and Mandarin when the attribute of Markers are different.The fourth chapter makes analysis of the structural characteristics of the comparative structure in Mandarin, discusses the attribute of Marker, the characteristics of the Result in Comparing and the necessary conditions of the omission of comparing point in Mandarin.The fifth chapter researches the common features of comparative construction in dialects and the unique structure of comparing in Mandarin. And we try to explain the unique order of comparative structure in Mandarin with the Principle of Temporal Sequence and Linear Increment.The conclusion summarizes the content of the thesis and the related issues which should be studied in the future.
