Tang dynasty is a harmonious world where all civilizations coexist and accomodate each other, which create the rich and colorful social culture. As one of the most important part of the social culture of Tang dynasty, the funeral culture represent the obvious contemporary characters, and the pagoda's pot is the typical representative. As a funerary object influenced by the Buddhism, the pagoda's pot can be discovered prevalently in the Tang dynasty grave. With excavated abundantly, the pagoda's pot is very significative to the studying of many contemporaneous issues, which includes the funerary consuetude, cultural communion, religionary development and the problem of nation. On the basic of the archaeological finding and production recent years, this thesis farther study the pagoda's pot of the grave of the Tang dynasty.On the basic of the chinaware and the trichromatic pagoda's pot excavated from the grave in Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia and Gansu et alibi, this thesis distinguish the pagoda's pot into four eras, 4 types and 23 manners according to the differences of the button of the cover, the abdomen and the base of the pagoda's pot. On the basic of classification and stage studying of the pagoda's pot which represent great for the diversity in different areas and periods, this thesis comparatively study the pagoda's pot from space (according to the standard in historical geography) and time. Further more, this thesis expatiate a viewpoint that the regional diversities and tropism in the development and evolvement of the pagoda's pot are resulted from the cultural differences between the farming areas and the nomadic areas as well as their mutual influence. Besides, the diversities in different periods of the pagoda's pot are mostly resulted from the change of the funeral custom. Moreover, this thesis discuss the matter that religion secularization and chinese-characterization, changes of the funeral pattern and the national amalgamation, and then reveal the culture and era characteristic of the pagoda's pot from the grave of the Tang dynasty.
