Yueyao celadon ceramics of Tang Dynasty is a very important embranchment of ancient Chinese culture. In 1980s ST color porcelain excavated at Famen Temple in Shaanxi have been shown the highest achievement of ceramics during the late Tang Dynasty to the world. As a royal tribute for Tang Dynasty palace, ST color porcelain of Famen Temple has several distinct features. For instance, Yueyao celadon has pure glaze,delicacy and compact ware, exquisite workmanship, and beautiful decorated. Its excavation unveiled a new chapter of researching of ST color porcelain.In this article, investigating visual culture of ST color porcelain has been set into the background of aulic culture of Tang Dynasty. By comprehensive analysising the specific environmental factors, aesthetic cultural, artistic style, way of life etc of Tang Dynasty,and based on the excavations, archaeological informations and the exquisite porcelain as bowls, plates, dish, bottles excavated at Famen Temple's subterranean palace in Shaanxi, combined with historical documents, physical pictures, the representative celadon porcelain of the Famen Temple in the Tang Dynasty have been investigated with its firing time, appellation, connotation, glaze, characteristic of plastic arts and exquisite workmanship. Further more, by researching the glaze, the mould and the production of ST color porcelain, we would easily dig out the the significance of keramic history and value of aesthetics.
