In 213 BC,Emperor Chin Shihuang adopted the advice of Li Si to "Fen shu".In the next year,a lot of scholars were buried in Xian Yang.The two events were called "Fen shu keng ru". The scholars before Qing dynasty had made a lot of achievements on this issue.Based on this, the scholars of Qing dynasty carried out more comprehensive and intensive expidition and appraisal.This paper focus on the differences of the viewpoints between the scholars of Qing dynasty and before that in order to conclude the creativities that the scholars of Qing dynasty had accomplished.Furthermore,we can get proper cognition of this important historical events.This paper carries out from the following four parts.First,we surveyed how the event happened by analyzing the first records of "Fen shu keng ru".We mainly referred to the records of Historical Records(Shiji).Second,we summarized the study and evaluation on "Fen shu keng ru" from scholars before the Qing Dynasty.The discussion of "Fen shu" included the reasons,scope,retention and abolition of the books.The discussion of "Keng ru" included the object,location and number of this event.Then I summarized the evaluations of "Fen shu keng ru" from the scholars before the Qing dynasty. Third,this thesis explored the study and evaluation on "Fen shu keng ru" made by scholars of the Qing dynasty.Scholars of the Qing Dynasty studied the event "Fen shu" and the books' orientation after this event.The discussion of "Fen shu" mainly covered reasons,scope and responsibility of this event.Regarding the orientation of the books,there were comments of "Books from overseas","Collecting books by Fusheng" and "Presenting books from Kong Anguo" and some discussions of Liujing after the event "Fen shu".Regarding the study of"Keng ru",this thesis carried out from the object,the authenticity,numbers of the buried people and the Valley of "Keng ru".Then evaluations of "Fen shu keng ru" from scholars of the Qing Dynasty were summed up.At last,the products and innovations of the studies on "Fen shu keng ru" from scholars of the Qing Dynasty were summarized and the reason of these achievements was analyzed.Besides,the important historical status of these studies for the development of academics was evaluated.
