Self-handicapping is"At achievement situations, the individual in order to avoid or reduce the poor performance due to the negative impact of any increase can be the causes of the failure of opportunities outside the action and select". Schools are typical environment for achievements, therefore, many researchers from other countries have studied many strategies of high-school students'Self-handicapping, but few studies occurred in our country. On the process of collecting information, I found that the study of Self-handicapping on Individual differences among foreigners are mostly focus on the character and gender,and self-respect is the key. Jinping Mao a Domestic researcher points out that there is very significant negative correlation between self-respect and Self-handicapping. further divided self-respect into positive and negative, this correlation is mainly exists in negative ones. And related high, can be a very strong prediction of academic self- prejudice individuals, but also triggered the most important variables of self- prejudice. Negative self-respect of those with low self-respect level; Li Xiaodong also pointed out that the Implicit self-respect and explicit self-respect on Self- prejudice has different effects. Implicit self-respect on behavioral Self-handicapping and self-report prejudice affects, Explicit self-respect and gender in the self-report on self-impeding significant interaction;he also found that self-effciency on academic has significant negative impact on Self-handicapping, inferring that lack of confidence in the learning ability of students more inclined to use the academic self-handicapping strategy. When low self-effciency students expect success in the upcoming scenario may fail, pre-reduction efforts may be done through the adoption of such an academic Self-handicapping strategies to protect their own self-respect, creating a non-capacity reason. Throughout these studies, I noticed that the academic research on Self-handicappings is less in our country and college students are tried more than high-school students on this research.. Therefore, the purpose of this study the use of questionnaires, to junior high school students study for the test,discussed theirself-respect self-effciencyand Self-handicapping. The results are as follows:1. Junior high school students in their studies of Self-handicapping does not exist on gender and grade differences;2. Self-handicapping and academic self-respect were significantly negatively correlated, that is, the lower self-respect of the individual, the more inclined to take the academic Self-handicapping strategy;3. Self-effciency and academic Self-handicapping were significantly negative correlation, that is, the lower self-effciency, academic self-handicapping higher;4. Academic Self-handicapping on academic performance did not significantly impact on their scores.
