The leading activity of high school students is learning. At this important stage, their learning habits, attitudes and methods play a vital role in their own development.Academic delay is an important factor affecting students' academic performance and physical and mental health.Academic procrastination leads to low learning efficiency, poor performance, and impaired physical and mental health. In recent years, many studies have shown that self-efficacy affects individual procrastination behavior, but few studies have explored the mechanisms of individual self-efficacy and academic delay. This study will focus on high school students and explore the impact of self-efficacy on academic procrastination from the perspective of self-discipline.In this study,680 high school students were selected as subjects, and the self-efficacy scale,self-discipline scale and academic procrastination scale were used to deeply study and explore the mechanism of self-efficacy affecting academic delay. The results showed that there was a significant negative correlation between self-efficacy and self-interference;self-discipline and academic delay were significantly positively correlated;self-efficacy was significantly negatively correlated with academic delay;self-interdiction played a mediating role between self-efficacy and academic delay. In the second study of this study, group counseling intervention was used to screen out two parallel classes. The two classes were similar in terms of male-female ratio,self-efficacy,self-discipline,and academic delay. They were randomly divided into experimental group and control group.A group counseling program was subsequently developed. The experimental group conducted a group counseling intervention once a week, and a total of six group counseling sessions were conducted. The control group did not do any counseling.Six group coaching has a significant effect on improving the level of self-efficacy of students. The results of the study prove that self-efficacy,self-discipline,and academic delay are related;self-efficacy plays a role in academic delay through the influence of self-handicapping;self-efficacy group intervention can improve self-efficacy and reduce self-handicapping,further Reduce academic procrastination.
