The College English Curriculum Requirements (For Trial Implementation) has been modified by Ministry of Education in September, 2007, in allusion to the phenomenon of "time-consuming and inefficient" and "deaf English", "dumb English" existed in English teaching for a long time .It aims at cultivating students'abilities of comprehensive applications of English ,especially listening and speaking ability, so that they can communicate effectively both in oral and written English in their study and social interaction in the future. It also brought out that the multi-media and network technology should be used to improve the quality of teaching in listening and speaking, to make English learning towards personalization and self-study direction.A new teaching mode has been created after multimedia entering the field of teaching, which shows teaching information in a variety of ways, such as text, graphics, images, animation, video and sound, and so on. This new mode has greatly enriched the teaching and modernized the means of education .The multi-media technology has the advantages of multi-sensory stimulation and interaction. In teaching practice, multi-media technology can use by teachers to create an opening environment and offer students rich and colorful knowledge, and meanwhile, to actively mobilize the students interested in studying and improve the awareness of self-participation, which will integrate the outer vitality and the inner scientificalness of the teaching contents. College English multimedia teaching can not only effectively cultivate the listening and speaking skills, but also enhance cultural awareness of university students through the use of network resourcesMultimedia into the university teaching of English listening and speaking not only brings abundant teaching resources and advanced teaching methods, but also bring new challenges for English teachers, classroom teaching control. At present, the lack of systematic study in depth of this teaching strategy with multi-media, to some extent, limited the application of multimedia technology in teaching.This dissertation studied the construct of university teaching of English listening and speaking strategy with multi-media, with the guidance of constructivism and Meyer'Multimedia Learning Theory. The main contents include the following five parts:The first part is the introduction of the full text. It introduces the background of the research, connotations of multimedia and teaching strategies, summarization, as well as the purposes and methods of this article.The second part is the theoretical basis for research. It systematically analyzed the theoretical system of teaching strategies which our predecessors has studied, constructivism learning theory and the multimedia learning model of Mayer.The third part is the main research content of this article—the construct of listening and speaking teaching strategy with multi-media, including multi-media organization strategy of listening and speaking teaching, context creation strategy of listening and speaking, interactive strategy and formative evaluation of teaching strategies.Part IV discusses the specific applications of college teaching of English listening and speaking strategies with multi-media.In the last part, the chief work of this thesis has been summarized, and the further research subjects have been proposed.
