Wang Fu-chih, "the Book Of Songs Barnyard Diversion" Study

As to wang Fuzhi's research works on The Book of Songs, there are mainly two: ShiJingBaiShu and ShiGuangZhuan. The former is a critical research work on the name explanations of the words in The Book of Songs, the latter is the elucidation of the ideological connotation of The Book of Songs, mainly expressing the political, historical as well as philosophical ideas of Wang Fuzhi himself, taking The Book of Songs just as a pretext. Therefore, ShiGuangZhuan can not be seen as a research work on The Book of Songs itself, while ShiJingBaiShu is the main research work on The Book of Songs, which represents Wang Fuzhi's achievements of the research on The Book of Songs. This paper is mainly about the research methods and ideological connotations of Wang Fuzhi's ShiJingBaiShu, being divided into three chapters.Chapter1 is about the research tendency of ShiJingBaiShu. Firstly, it makes a brief introduction to Wang Fuzhi's biography and his academic achievements, then it gives a simple combing on the research history of The Book of Songs, in order to highlight the writing background of ShiJingBaiShu, finally, it introduces the style, basic content, edition and present research situation of ShiJingBaiShu..Chapter2 is the analysis of the research methods of ShiJingBaiShu. By careful analysis, nine kinds can be found: widely citing, compromising among many viewpoints; focusing on empirical, objective materialism; basing on "The Book of Songs"'s text; attaching importance to general rules in ancient books; valuing human senses and logic; making use of knowledge on character and phonology, testifying by historical facts and natural science; taking notes of the differences between ancient and modern days, etc.Chapter3 is the analysis of the ideological content of ShiJingBaiShu, including academic thoughts, ethical thoughts and national thoughts.
