Neruda In Contemporary China's Acceptance And Shaping

This paper concentrates on the study of the reception and shaping of Pablo Neruda in china since 1949.Two representative history periods,i.e.1949～1980 and 1980～now,are chosen by the current author to reveal the change of his literary image during the course of reception and shaping.By rethinking the change of Neruda's literary image and combining the historical and literary context,multi-culture,media and the poet's complex literary creation,the current author tries to present a typical case of literary acceptation.It is found that Pablo Neruda's literary image changes from political poet to love songster and legendary poet in the process of more than half a century's reception and shaping.Whether from the portrayal of mainstream discourse in the political age,or from the literary after the cultural revolution emphasizing literariness and ontology,or from the transition of cultural and literary context and the rapid development of mass culture,consumption culture,movie and TV culture as well as the popularity of entertainment spirit with the speed-up of China's modernization,it is clear that the reception process is also a process of filtration and remodeling,in which the poet is brought into the cultural system of the society of that time based on the needs of culture construction.The paper is divided into two parts:introduction and text.The introduction mainly hackles the change of Neruda's literary image and tries to present a complete image of him from the perspectives of political poet,love songster and regional culture.The text is also divided into two sections.The first section discusses how the poet is shaped as a political poet in the 30 years since 1949 due to the intertwinement of political culture and literary acceptance."Poetry periodical",which represents and leads the literature trend at that time,is used as a case to show the important influence of the political ideology on the shaping of "political poet".In the mean time,the communication between Neruda and Ai qing also plays an inneglectable role in the image establishment.The last part mainly analyses how Neruda is changed from a political poet to a love songster and legendary poet with the conversion of political-culture language environment and literature research pattern,including the rise of Modernist Aesthetics,especially the development of mass culture,movie and TV culture,consumption culture and multimedia.
