This essay is a research about Woody Allen's movies. The essay analyses the postmodernism style in his movies, such as the overset and parody to the classic movies and literature, the deconstruction of characters and narration, the combination of magic and reality. By this ways, he broke audiences'custom of watching movies. In his movies, he expresses his own opinion on love and death by using postmodern method, express his irony attitude to middle-class people and intellectual, expresses his rebellion to some tradition and college theories, expresses his doubt to religion. His movies are comedy inside but tragedy outside, laughing with sadness. This is also why he is so unique in America.
