Schubert's Song Cycle "winter Journey" Concert

The Lieder is a unique kind of vocal style in the history of European music. Franz Peter Schubert is a prominent representative of Germany-Austria Lieder composers. Song Cycle Winterreise is Schubert's important Lieder creation. To perfectly make the musical images alive, it is necessary for the singer to integrate himself/herself with the lyricist and the composer into a whole in terms of the thoughts and emotions embodied in this work.This paper deals with several aspects, including the definition, attributes, musical materials, genre and acting form of the Lieder. Besides, it also makes clear the relationships between works, lyricist and composer, in an effort to make singers understand the Lieder and Winterreise in an all-around manner. Starting with such fronts as the different characteristics in singing of opera and Lieder, the singing styles of Germany-Austria Lieder, the singing indications and its artistic treatments, the well-known vocalists'interpretations to Winterreise and the version comparision as well. The writer makes some researches on the works themselves and the ways of singing. With this analyses and researches, the writer expects to offer some helps conductive to the studying and singing practices of the Song Cycle Winterreise.
