Research, A Number Of Issues On The Early Tang Dynasty Cavalry

Cavalry is a kind of army whose soldiers ride a horse on the combat. It is existed as mobile military strength in the battlefield. This paper mainly has done the concrete research to the situation of cavalry's establishment, equipment and training in earlier period of Tang Dynasty. Tang Dynasty's cavalry was so prosperous that never appearance before, however, this just refers to the earlier period of Tang Dynasty. After the Anlushan Rebellion, the Tang Dynasty cavalry, especially the central committee cavalry declined .The cavalry has played the vital role in the earlier period of Tang Dynasty ,regardless of the elimination war in the beginning of Tang or in the war with the Frontier nomads. The reason that Tang can be in initiative in the relationship between Tang and the North nomads in earlier period is inseparable from the cavalry troop it owns . Concerns the Tang Dynasty cavalry's research, Most scholars in the study before the Tang Dynasty or Tang Dynasty military issues has been involved in Military issues and horse politics, but the study on the Tang Dynasty cavalry few monographs. In the basis of previous studies, this paper carried on the historical data combs, and tried to explore further in-depth questions on the cavalry's establishment, equipment, battlefield, training and so on. In particular, the paper do specific and depth research for individual problems.The first question of the paper studied is the cavalry's establishment and the equipment in the early period of the Tang Dynasty .Under Tang Dynasty government office military system background cavalry establishes quite complex, Include The cavalry establishment under government office military system, the cavalry establishment under the march and the cavalry establishment under the Central imperial guard.The second question of the paper researched is the cavalry's utilization in battlefield in the early period of the Tang Dynasty. However, according to the different war, there were differences in the number of cavalry. The fourth question of the paper studied on the management of warhorses in Tang's earlier period.
