In recent years, study on the verb-complement structure has been closely concerned, and a lot of achievements have been acquired. However, most of the research on verb-complement structure of Zhuang language is synchronically described in grammar, further research is badly needed. The feature of verb- complement structure and the function of complement are closely related with the "time" category and the "quantity" category. Therefore, according to some previous relevant studies, and based on three-dimension grammatical theory, the paper tries to integrate the theory research with analysis on concrete problems with the application of theory and principle in cognitive grammar, so as to do our best to analyze the verb-complement structure of Zhuang language comprehensively. The paper is consisted of five chapters.Chapter 1 is mainly concerned with the current study on verb-complement structure of Zhuang language, and also a brief description on the significance of the study, data source, research methods and theories.Chapter 2 deals with the characteristics of complement and the types of verb-complement structure of Zhuang language. The types of verb-complement structure of Zhuang language both in Zhuang language and in modern Chinese, and the ones characterized in Zhuang language, are described in detail. The "time" category and the "quantity" category are explained also. Based on the "time" category, the verb-complement structure of Zhuang language is divided into two sub-structures, that is, the one representing the temporal process and the one representing the temporal quantity. According to the characteristics of the verb-complement structure of Zhuang language, the sub-structure representing the temporal process is further divided into two subcategories, that is, the one with no auxiliary word representing one temporal process, and another one with auxiliary word representing two temporal processes.Chapter 3 is focused on the semantic meaning of complement in verb-complement structure of Zhuang language. The complement in the VC structure is analyzed first. The complement in verb-complement structure representing one temporal process comprises non-quantity complement and quantity complement. The former one indicates natural results, expected results, non-ideal results, situation and characteristics, while the latter indicates deviation, character, and comparison. While the complement in verb-complement structure representing temporal quantity indicates action duration, state duration, duration after action completion, and so on. Then the complement in the VXC structure is analyzed, in which non-quantity complement indicates appraisal, judgment, objective results, and quantity complement indicates modal quantity. Chapter 4 concentrates on grammatical forms of the verb-complement structure of Zhuang language. At first the paper explains the linear order of predicative, objective and complement, pointing out that V+O+C is the main structure, but also exist a small quantity of V+O+C structure. In this chapter, the evolution, the relevant syntactic structures of the verb-complement structure of Zhuang language are also discussed. And some explanation about the influence of the evolution of verb-complement structure of Zhuang language to the relevant syntactic structures is given in an attempt. In Chapter 5, the ideas of the paper are summarized as well as some limitations which call for further study.
