| The following essay deals extensively with the living predicament that people are confronting in the postmodern context,and assesses that the tragedy mentality is a plausible method to solve the problem.As our world accelerates its pace of globalization,China has been drawn into the world's cultural scope,and its society is inevitably influenced by Western modernistic concepts,impacting the country's politics,economy,culture,and religion,each to varying degrees.Furthermore,our mobilization of a market economy has ushered in a wave of contemporary problems,namely an enlarging gap between the wealthy and the poor, environmental pollution,and with the addition of Chinese people's widespread lack of faith, many of them have evolved into lifeforms of sensual excitation and hedonistic pursuits,rejecting rationality and eminence,and as a consequence,they suffer an imminent psychological disorientation.Specifically,this type of disorientation is especially apparent and manifests itself in social phenomena such as the metamorphosis of human thought,obscenation of existence, utensilization of culture,and desertion of spirtuallity.This thesis points out that the most lacking aspects of human mentality are,in fact,concepts present in the tragedy spirit,such as the awareness of suffering,the drive towards rationality,the elevated perception of ambition,and the active engagement in struggle;all are virtuous qualities,and thus the tragedy spirit may serve as a significant means to help people go out of their predicaments of living.At the same time, whether mankind's conflicts in life stem from external restrictions(man to nature,man to man)or internal restrictions(internal moral conflict),these restrictions are and will be perpetual in existence,and as a result,this essay considers the need for us to actively advocate the tragedy spirit,in order for mankind to permanently transcend life's various dilemmas upon the grain of reality.This article is divided into four parts.The first part introduces mainly the living predicament that people are confronting in the postmodern context.First of all,it analyzes Objectively the reasons of the wide dissemination of the post-modernist thought in China,and then pointed out the diffirent forms of the living predicament that people are confronting,such as the metamorphosis of human thought,obscenation of existence,utensilization of culture,and desertion of spirtuallity.The second part introduces the meaning of the tragedy mentality.In this section,the paper describes the development path of the Chinese traditional tragedy spirit, and then analyzes the content of the tragedy of the spirit as well as aesthetic characteristics.The third part mainly introduces the function of the tragedy spirit at helping people out of the plight of post-modernism.This paper gives a detailed analysis of the division tendencies in three areas:physical value and spiritual values;emotional impulses and rational constraints;humble reality and the lofty ideals,and describes the remedial role of the tragedy spirit towards the three division tendencies.The last part of this article points out the perpetual existence of the survival plight of the people,and thinks that we should actively advocate the tragedy spirit,in order for mankind to permanently transcend life's various dilemmas upon the grain of reality.Faced with the perpetual existence of the survival plight of the people,people can not help but despair,and even to avoid,but most importantly,we should learn to bear the suffering,to struggle actively,to construct their own meaning of life with their own practical actions.The tragedy spirit gives us the valuable insight because of its indomitable fighting spirit,tenacious pursuit and noble character.Maybe the failure is still inevitable,but they can carry forward the life will of the human beings,show the potential of life in the process of resistance,and then create a life course full of joy and fullness with their tenacious and indomitable practice. |
