Wang Furen is not only a researcher of contemporary literature and an expert at the study of Lu Xun in China academic sector, but also a scholar who take on consciousness at macroscopical in culture research. During his decades'research career of literature, he has always upheld the idea of Enlightenment as the guiding spirit of his research. In view of the passive nature of the Enlightenment and its complexity, it has been gradually fading out of and abandoned by the academic circles especially when it is faced to the introduction of the post-modern theory. Wang Furen, based on China's actual conditions, pointed out that the true value of the Enlightenment in China has not fully discovered up to now, and the spirit of the May 4th Cultural Enlightenment should be carried forward in the modern society.This paper, with the idea of Enlightenment upheld by Wang Furen in his study of literature and culture as the starting point, explored into the features of his literary views, which was done from two perspectives: rational Enlightenment and aesthetical Enlightenment, with the emphasis on the demonstration of the realistic significance of Enlightenment in current theoretical circles and society. It took three chapters to discuss Wang Furen's literary views of Enlightenment.The first chapter focused on the standpoint of Wang Furen's academic research—caring about the reality life, speculating on the independent value of an individual, perceptual individual , China's tradition and modernity. It talked about the development of China's emotional enlightenment and critical enlightenment, and hence highlighted the position of the China's Enlightenment spirit.The second chapter focused on the features of Wang Furen's academic research—rational consideration and emotional experience. It described and analyzed his concept of Enlightenment from a perceptive of uniting the ration and the emotion. Based on the rational features and the emotional experience stressed by Wang Furen, this chapter displayed Wang Furen's understanding of the modernity which was once hot in China.The third chapter focused on the appearance of the idea of Enlightenment in the aspect of literary aesthetics. It discussed the aesthetic idiosyncrasy of Wang Furen's sipirt of Enlightenment from the tragic aesthetic illustration of Lu Xun's works, aesthetic reality, current aesthetic utilitarian to the easthetic idiosyncracy of WangFuren's Enlightenment intension.
