This is a spectacular phenomenon in historical study that series collections of illustrative plates on antiques were compiled in the Song Dynasty.Though only a few of the collections have been preserved up to now,still aplenty of information there are need further investigation and analysis. which compiled by Lv Dalin is a significant one of them. contained a large pool of pictures and inquiries on antiques.Based on these,it connected the antiques to the system of "the three rituals" and deeply effect later researches and polices.Thus it settled one of cornerstones of Chinese antiques study.Simultaneously,apart the literally discussion,it provided visual resources to art production.By its facilitating,various images of antiques were represented in different forms.The whole visual culture was influenced. Unlike the traditional conception of ,I wouldn't define it as a catalogue of antiques but rather a creational book.Evading the tedious textual research of the collected antiques,my analysis will focus on the graphic charts in this book.By analysis the characters of the illustrative graphs and the inquiries made by Lv Dalin,I would draw a conclusion of how the book was compiled.And than,relevant visual materials,particular the expositions of elements of the antiques' styling,would be involved into the cross-investigation in order to figure out the mechanism how the book make its wild influences possible.
