Since the 20th century, human beings'material needs have been satisfied to a considerable extent. More problems centered on spiritual and cultural aspects, and more and more modern cultural crisis has become the focus of people's concern. Therefore, various theoretical ideas such as humanism,critique of technological reason,critique of mass culture,critique of daily life pay close attention to the study on culture and ideology. As one of the basis on which western spiritual development depends, religion is inseparable from culture. In order to probe into and resolve modern cultural crisis, religion should be involved as an indispensable dimension. Tillich is a thinker who made outstanding contributions to both philosophical and theological areas in the 20th century. He attaches great importance to the relationship between religion and culture. His religious cultural perspective aiming at"ultimate concern"addresses the matters of modern people's survival circumstance and modern culture's spiritual plight. The religious philosophy is rich in content and deep in thought, which has important theoretical value and practical significance.Beginning with the basic theory of relationship between culture and religion, this paper attempts to analyze relevant theories and methods of Tillich's religious and cultural relations, explore the causes of modern culture crisis, so as to study its theoretical value and practical significance, and embody particular significance of Tillich's cultural theory dealing with modern culture crisis.This paper consists of four parts: The first part mainly reviews and explores the background and the theoretical origins of Tillich's religious cultural perspective.The second part elaborates Tillich's religious cultural perspective in a systematic way. First of all, some important concepts of Tillich's thought about God, religion, culture and ultimate concern are clarified. Then, a detailed analysis of Tillich's cultural stratification theory is conducted. Finally, it is pointed out that the disconnection of cultural surface and bottom layer causes the crisis of western culture. The third part analyzes Tillich's methodology of religious cultural perspective, namely the interrelated method. The fourth part mainly discusses the theoretical value and limitations of Tillich's religious cultural perspective.Tillich put religious cultural perspective forward in the interrelated method. On the one hand, in the relationship between religion and culture analysis, he pay more attention to the religious Ontology ; the other hand, he defined religion as "ultimate concern" theory, so made all areas of culture to find a unified theory of the foundation. In significance, from culture to Western society provides the theological way out of crisis.
