On The Tang And Song Dynasties Miasma Of The Lingnan Region

Malaria Disease is prevalent environmental disease in the history of the South ,which is caused by the poor environment in the whole ancient society. Malaria was a "killer" who did harm to people's production and everyday life,even their lives, and so it would have an influence on the historical development of the Malaria area. Recently the study about Malaria has been a hot spot in the academic field of environment. It draws the attention of scholars because of its great harm and impact to the society. And scholars have published many papers from different angles, such as medical illness, social disease, historical geography, cultural content and political perspective. However, making a comprehensive survey of these papers , we will find that the special studys, which exhaustivly discuss the impact of one area that was caused by Malaria, are rare.There are many mountains and waters in the south , and the air is wet , so many areas are in a closed or semi-closed state, which easely cause the breed of mosquitoes and poison gas that do a great harm to people's physical and mental health. Lingnan region was well known of the Malaria during Tang ang Song dynasty. Malaria had a great impact on Lingnan's politic,economic,culture,socaiety and so on. Studying about the effects which caused by Malaria , will help us find out the development of Lingnan history and the environment's act on the modifications of the central government's policy. Therefore, this article selected the Malaria of Lingnan of Tang ang Song dynasty as the studying target, and for the research, we used a large number of histrorical materials,notes and poems, and combined kinds of theories and methods ,such as history,geography,environment.On the basis of knowing the concept and the distribution of Malaria, with the set up of Lingnan before Tang and Song and the impact of Malaria, this full text holds the activety of the special banished officals to Malaria, and reveals its impact on Lingnan , especially the impact on the policy of central government and Lingnan's culture. So that, this article has a certain historical and practical significance:People had a comprehensive understand of Malaria in Tang and Song dynasy. Considering the Malaria's impact on Lingnan, can help us know well about the historical development of Lingnan , and also provide a reference to the study for the Lingnan multi——ethnic region with many perspectives. For example, why the ancient Lingnan was in a close and backward state, why the central government adopted special strategy in Lingnan, to these questions,we know that the restrict of enviroment was one of the important factors which cannot be ignored.Lingnan region was the border ethnic area. Deep analysis of the Malaria's impact on the government's policies and Lingnan's society in Tang and Song , can give a good refence to the present government. Now government should actively support the development of those backword ethnic areas which have poor environment. And when we exploit the natural resources and pursue the economic benefits, we must protect the ecological environment. Otherwise, if we exploit excessively, it will lead to ecological deterioration ,and ultimately damage the benefits of the people.
