We defined the "College students' Social Adjustment" as follows:University students respond to social expectations and changing learning styles,interpersonal relationships and the external environment,emotional,and self-satisfaction and coordinate their psychological and behavioral in order to keep balance with the new environment.Adaptation and development are the basic contents of individual's life as well as the two important projects confronted with by College students.Researching on the characteristics and rules of the social adaptive has significant values both on theory and Practice.So the purposes of present study were:(1) to explore the characteristics of college students' social adjustment;(2)to investigate the relations among The Relations among Social Adjustment,Attachment and Self-Regulatory of College students.643 college students from Xi'an completed the Chinese College Student Adjustment Scale(CCSAS),the Self-Regulatory Questionnaire(SRQ) and the Relationship Scale Questionnaire.The results of the research were as follows:1.As a whole,college students' were at the middle level of social adjustment,the scores on the dimension of "self-adjustment "was to the best,meanwhile the scores on the dimension of "degree of satisfaction" was to be improved.2.The juniors' score of "interpersonal relations adjustment" and "self-adjustment" was significantly higher than that of seniors,and" degree of satisfaction" was lower than the senior's.The freshmen's score of "learning adaptability" was higher than that of sophistry's,the freshmen's score of" degree of satisfaction" was higher than that of junior's.The boys' score of "campus life adjustment" was significantly higher than that of girls'.We also found that "learning adaptability" to sophomore girls was significantly lower than the other three grades.The boy's "emotional adjustment" was in an upward trend in the first two years,and then began to decline in the grade four."Emotional adjustment" of freshman girls was significantly lower than sophomore girls,3.In this study,the《Chinese College Student Adjustment Scale》had higher reliability coefficient,and every two of the dimensions all had lower significant positive correlation,which indicating that the scale used in our study were apply to the college student's social adjustment.4.College students scored higher on attachment security,and lower on attachment avoid and the attachment,which indicating that state of college students' attachment were better.Our study also found that students in fourth grade had the best attachment security,but on the dimensions of attachment avoid and attachment anxiety,there is no grade differences.At last,our study found there are no gender differences of attachment.5.There was positive correlations between Attachment security and social adjustment,and there were negative correlations between Attachment avoid,Attachment anxiety and social adjustment.There was no correlations between the dimension "degree of satisfaction" of social adjustment and attachment avoid,lower correlations between the dimension "degree of satisfaction" of social adjustment and attachment anxiety;Except for interjected regulation,there were significant correlations between self-regulation and social adjustment,The absolute value of correlation coefficient at among 0.13 to 0.606.Attachment not only could predict social adjustment(mainly through the attachment security) directly,but also could through self-regulatory to affect social adjustment indirectly(mainly through the attachment avoid and attachment anxiety).The self-regulatory was the mediator between attachment and social adjustment.This study confirmed the basic assumption that the initial study has a certain theoretical and practical significance.
