Image Of Koreans In Modern Chinese Fiction

In the modern history of literature of China, there were many literary outputs that involved Korean people; and because of the same fortune that Korean and Chinese people both faced in the history, the figures of Korean people were mostly preferred in the expression of modern literature of China, especially after "9.18 Incident". The object of this thesis is to study the figures of Korean people in Chinese modern literature outputs via research those authors and the figures they made in this period to discuss the significance of these kind of subjects in Chinese modern history. The emergence of those works describing Korean people in Chinese modern history is not originated from the needs of internal exchange in literature but from the reflection of the external circumstantial changes of the era. Only if these works had been put into the historical circumstances and social events of both countries, the evaluation of their significance and cultural value can be made.This thesis has been separated into four parts:At first, it introduced about the purpose of this thesis and talked about the condition and content in both countries.In the first chapter, it introduced the basic situation of modern literature in both countries; it also studied the period that Korean works appeared and the relevant authors of Chinese modern literature; moreover, it analyzed the relationship between the historical background of these works and the personal experiences of their authors.In the second chapter, it talked about the types of Korean people that were described by Chinese modern literary authors and analyzed them in three kinds of figures:normal rovers, patriot, and the opposite figures who agreed with Japanese imperialism. This chapter mainly studied the emotion and realization expressed by Chinese modern authors depending on these Korean figures, which simultaneously discussed the significance of the figures of Korean people reflected by these works.At last, it concluded the historical significance and value of the works that involved Korean people in the modern literature history of China via the contents in this thesis.
