.1917 Braided Military Harm The Country

Political situation changed frequently in the early Republic of China, and infighting warlords set up separatist regimes for their own selfish desires, so people could not have a peaceful life and suffered a huge disaster. In 1917, a restoration farce was staged in an attempt to turn the clock back. During the year, the official conflicts between President Li Yuanhong and Premier Duan Qirui was further deteriorated because of the issue of Germany, and both of them were eager to draw Zhang Xun as an assistant. Zhang Xun used this chance to have made a restoration northward under the pretext of mediation, which was called Zhang Xun Restoration in history. This retrogradation was opposed intensively by all the people of the country and failed rapidly. Zhang Xun escaped and hid elsewhere. During the restoration, commercial and financial industry of Beijing nearly collapsed, and other local businesses were also greatly affected. Braided army who followed Zhang Xun to Beijing endangered the people of the capital for the moment, and the war with the Republic Army seriously affected the safety and the lives of the people in Beijing. Furthermore, only a small number of braided army followed Zhang Xun to the north, the remaining braided army committed heinous crimes in the local and surrounding areas like robbery, burning, killing, and kidnapping during Zhang Xun's restoration, especially after Zhang Xun escaped and hid. Jiangsu, Shandong and Anhui provinces suffered the most because more braided armies stationed there.This paper is divided into four main parts, the first part introduced the origin of Zhang Xun and his braided military, especially its harm to business, law and order during the restoration in Beijing. The second part was the keystone of this paper, which focused on the harm done by braided military to local people after Zhang Xun escaped and hid, with Anhui, Jiangsu and Shandong provinces suffered the most due to the number of braided military stationed there. The third part was concentrated on the process of Braided Army's being demobilized and incorporated, how its harm to China was ended, as well as its perishing as an independent army. The last part mainly pointed out that the braid military disaster over China had not truly ended, although the history of braid military came to an end. The warlords'rule in China had not finished and continued to devastate the land of China after the event.The purpose of this writing is to make people aware of the disastrous rule of the warlords based on a large number of historical facts, thus to make our own contribution to the maintenance of the hard-won peaceful environment nowadays, the objection to those separatist hostile forces, and the development of a socialist harmonious society.
