The phenomenon of metaphor have been the hot topic among scholars of many fields for a long time. In the traditional rhetoric, it was considered only as a figure of speech; but in the newly rising cognitive linguistic, it is regarded as an important cognitive tool which can help us better understand this world. Lakoff has pointed out that:" metaphor exists not only in our daily life, but our thought and action." Therefore, it could be said like this:metaphor should be a matter of thought.Metaphor is part of the language which is the most active and most able to reflect the cultural factors. It can reflect the social life and social thought changes. Therefore, the understanding and use of metaphor must not be divorced from the underlying cultural context. In this paper, by analyzing the theories of metaphor and context we can do the research of the metaphorical meaning from the perspective of cultural context. Environment for the survival of mankind have the same or similar point which makes the metaphor of cross-cultural context similar. Due to customs and habits of various ethnic groups, geographic, political, religious and other differences as well decide this metaphor has its own personality side.The research of metaphor of cultural context would help to deepen the study which enable us to better understand how to express communication and understandmetaphor.
