These precious images of this document describe peace and prosperity during the Qing Dynasty, communication between countries, as well as faces, clothes and life of all ethnic minorities. Pictures with explanation in both Manchu and Chinese introduce a comprehensive account of history, social life, religion, language, ethnic relations and geographical distribution of various ethnic groups in Qing Dynasty. It could not only provide us firsthand materials to know of local conditions and customs of the minorities but also give us essential reference in research of history of Chinese national, history of Sino-foreign relations, ethnology and folklore. |
