Sublime, as a topic in aesthetics, is generally formed in western culture during long time practical activities by western aesthetes and accumulated as one of the most stable and basic consciousness. It is researched as an important object in the world of aesthetics, in western countries and China.Sublime, with western aesthetics, is introduced into the dictionary of China's modern aesthetics in early 20c. As an overseas idea, it, during the integration with Chinese traditional aesthetics, generates a new explanation and meaning, which is different from not only the meaning in Experience Theory and Morality in western aesthetics, but also the Beauty in macroscopic in ancient China. There were three masters, Liang Qichao, Wang Guowei and Cai Yuanpei, who were from different academic levels and cultural psychologies, constructed their own categories of how to appreciate the sublime. Liang showed his consciousness of sublime by "ebullient emotion", Wang established his sublime theory by the feeling of "magnificent beauty", and Cai illustrated his "grand and lofty beauty" via educating others mentally.Sublime, which is affected by the modernity of both enlightenment and aesthetics, is developed from translation to action. The process reflects the transition of aesthetics in China from tradition to modernity in the environment of "western learning influences eastern".
