How can we overcome the weakness of human nature? how can we survive better? Augustine employs human free will answer these questions. But the idea of human free will, has difference between per-and post-period. The paper attempts to inspect and analyze on human free will carefully.The line of the demostration of this paper to Augustine thought about free will is the time process and inherent logic. The time process is conveyed in the Augustine's "conversion". The inner thoughts of logical expansion to Augustine take into account the integrity of Augustine thought itself. and this is by examining the author convinced. The core content of the article can be divided into two parts:pre-and post-period of free will. The first part is basis on the text "the free choice of the will", which mainly discusses the free will can make people gave off evil and live a proper life. The author think there are conflicts in inner thoughts of his pre-ideology, which express the understanding of the evil of human nature. And insepecting of the later thought about free will of Augustine is according to the reply on response about the Pelagians' thought. The main text is based on its "On the nature and grace" and "On grace and free will." And then, there is a brief analysis of the turning of Augustine's ideas of free will, and the echo on the free will.Author believes that Augustine's free will of human thought, are carried out by know and faith in two principles, that is, the relationship between know and faith. If the pre-understanding on the free will use know as a starting point and faith to be the end, In the latter part use the faith-know-faith as logical line, That is, know enhance the faith, the faith lead to the know.The content discussed in this article, is not strange to us, and the conclusion is not also surprising. However, the author believes that, rethinking on Augustine about the question of how to know ourselves and survive better, have a deeply inspire for today's authors and readers.
