As the subject of theater performing arts, actors should treat themselves like sophisticated musical instruments. Only by scientific and careful maintenance and usage, can actors create richly-embodied characters and their respective stage lives to meet different needs in different plays. An actor must be a free man with his physical and mental components highly unified, free to control himself through numerous connections between his interior and exterior. He constantly trains his mind and body to stimulate and activate all nerves and cells in his body, as well as nurturing the organic connections among himself, others and the universe. Therefore, actors should spend their life time on self-cultivation to ensure their own activity. As an actor, it will do great help to improve his moral integrity and acting skills when he follows the scientific principles regarding human and nature, constantly trains himself at all times, and maintains the organic connections among himself, others and the universe. In Ancient East, its medical science, sports and other aspects of culture, invariably reflect the deep understanding of the complicated relationship between humans and the natural laws of space and time. For instance, the 12 hours within a day naturally correspond to the 12 meridians of the human body, the theory of yin and yang corresponds to different internal organs, so on and so forth. And all these theories require that men conform to the rules of nature to achieve"the unification of nature and men"and"self-recognition"- an ideal state acknowledged in both the West and the East. They scientifically specify in detail what activity one should engage in during respective periods of time of the day. So it will undoubtedly be helpful if actors can acquire such knowledge for their own.Based on his own experience and lessons learned both in school and in film / TV show / stage drama production crews, combined with tai chi, yoga and other physical training methods, and both eastern and western medical theories, the author aims to prove and demonstrate that by following the scientific rules regarding human activities in daily life, an actor can enhance his life energy through the most basic trainings and simplest lifestyles. Related information will be sorted out and hopefully it will serve as a guideline in future practice.
