This thesis is based on some basical book materials like Conversations and Discourses of Confucius,Collected rectification and commentaries of Confucius,Family Talks of Master Confucius and other related biography.It aims to explore the emotion of Confucius philosophy by striving to take the perspective of body and mind are united in one.The full text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is strictly based on the ancient charactors and materials to explain the word Emotion,and then try to get the specific meaning of Emotion combining with The Book of Songs,The Commentary of Zuo,Conversations and Discourses of Confucius,Appendices to the Book of Changes.The second chapter explores the Emotion of "the benevolent man cultivates yourself and loves others".Through critical interpretation of ancient texts,previous research and argumentation,it is believed that the original meaning of "benevolence" is the pursuit of unity in one physically and mentally.Confucius held that "with morality one has life" before the age of 55,so his "benevolence" can mean "effort" and "learning"."Effort" is to settle down the man,first make one’s own body and mind,and then settle the others.Finally,the direct related "learning" and "teaching" are conducted in the perspective of unity in one of mind and body.The third chapter explores the emotion of "transience" that is the study of Confucius’ s beyond the emotion of life and death.During the age of 55 to 68,although Confucius traveled around all the nations,he was still difficult to meet his fate,and sighed the "time" and "life",and deeply got the enlightenment of "everything desires long-living and hates death",so that his ideology is changed from persuing external to internal and demanded that heart death is the truly death.Then the emotion of “things” is discussed."Things",as a "job",is related to the subjectivity of man who have to be aware of righteousness and life.Finally,it argues that Confucius’ s methodology of self-cultivation is due to fear,and this thesis believes that Confucius has not solved the origin of things above shapes from which exists the virtue of self-cultivation.The fourth chapter explores the "emotion" of "heaven",that is,the study on Confucius’ s "follow what the heart desired,without transgressing what was right".In his later years,staying in Nation Lu,Confucius thought that "Heaven" is the source of morality and virtue.According to virtue,communication between the heaven and man exists.After “physical and mental unit",man has to "unit himself with heaven".The thesis believes that everything can be directly mutually effected through “feeling”.Virtue has this interaction feeling ability and matched with the meaning of it,people can feel and identify the way of heaven."Listen" is the abbreviation of interaction feeling and matched meaning.Man can surpass the body and mind to listen to "non being" which means identifying the way of heaven.
