In-Laws, Out-Laws is a sit-com that presents cultural conflicts and blend between Lingnan culture and the external culture. This dissertation mainly deals with a new angle for the making of localized TV dramas in this sit-com. Through the analysis of the role that Lingnan culture plays in this TV drama, the languages, customs, habits, lifestyles and values of characters, and the clashes brought by cultural differences, this dissertation tries to explore the attitudes among characters under various cultural systems towards one another and the advantages and limits that In-Laws, Out-Laws brings to the dissemination of Lingnan culture. The author's opinion is that, different from the conventional way of treating the localized TV drama as a market strategy within a certain area, the crew of making this sit-com saw the development and transformation of the regional culture through its shell and utilized it as the theme of In-Laws, Out-Laws. It has exploited a new resource for the creation and making of TV dramas on regional culture.
