The twentieth century is a century of theory, when various schools of thoughts compete to appear, and one of its tributaries is"deconstruction". As a representative of Deconstruction, Jacques Derrida published a number of works, such as his three representatives, Of Grammatology,Sound and phenomena and Writing and Difference. All his albums and Collections had a significant influence on theories followed. Living conditions of human race has always been Jacques Derrida's first concern and he dedicated all his energy to the advances of human spirit. His thoughts not only enable us to be aware of our own existence rationally, but also carry out attacks on those lazy in thinking to a large extent. The issues that Derrida's deconstruction thoughts care about are something that we cannot avoid. In modern society with highly developed civilization, its academic and practical guiding significance is still worthy of deep reflection. After 1980's, Jacques Derrida's thinking has begun to enter China's academic field. Various studies on Derrida's deconstruction thoughts have emerged, but in general terms, the understanding of domestic scholars on Derrida's deconstruction thoughts is still relatively limited, some of which are even biased. The objective of this study was not to do theoretical analysis, but to share personal views on its academic and practical meaning based on more materials and in a more lucid language, hoping to make a cross-reference for further domestic researches. The content of this study is divided into five parts. The first part,Introduction,is about the framework and contents of this paper as well as the review of Derrida's deconstruction thoughts and the significance of this paper. The second part is about the academic origin of Derrida's deconstruction thoughts. The third part, academic value of Derrida's deconstruction thoughts, clarifies the connotation of Derrida's Deconstruction thoughts and its academic value. The forth part, the practical value of Derrida's deconstruction thoughts,is mainly focused on the significance of deconstruction thoughts, as a post-modern theory,to the not yet fully modernized Chinese society. Conclusion makes it clear the significance of deconstruction thoughts should not be overlooked despite of its flaws. The approaches taken in this paper are mainly literature and induction. With full access to Derrida's books, interviews and other information of relevant researches on deconstruction thoughts, this paper makes the following proposals: Deconstruction is not equal to"destroy"or"deconstructionism", it would be more reasonable to be comprehended as thoughts, with deconstruction its own way of working. Respecting difference and"the other"is its academic value while inspiring harmonious social construction is its practical value.
