As is known, fuzzy phenomenon is widespread in language. But fuzzy rhetoric was not to become a new branch until 1980s after the introduction of fuzzy theory into rhetoric. With the investigation of fuzzy rhetoric, close attention has been paid to functions and rhetorical effects of fuzzy rhetoric in inter-lingual and trans-cultural communication. Therefore, studies on the translation of fuzzy rhetoric are both necessary and significant. With all the reasons mentioned above, this thesis firstly probes into fuzzy rhetoric in an all-round way, from such perspectives as its definition, classification and aesthetic functions, aiming to reveal the features of fuzzy rhetoric. Then this thesis goes on to talk about the similarities and disparities between Chinese and English fuzzy rhetoric in order to testify the objective existence of the degree of translatability of fuzzy rhetoric. Based on this, the thesis takes an initiative to propose the moderate translation guiding the translation of fuzzy rhetoric by comparing the defects of Eugene A. Nida's Functional Equivalence and Lawrence Venuti's Deconstructionist Strategy of Translation in guiding the translation of fuzzy rhetoric. The moderate translation is comprehensive. On the one hand, it respects the ecology of language; on the other hand, it advocates Bahtin's Dialogue Theory. The last part centers on example analysis to seek for the moderate translation strategies in guiding the translation of fuzzy rhetoric.
