This essay examines three topics:Di (Heaven God) worship, totemism and witch-burning rite. The investigator recreates the Chinese ancient religion as Weltanschauung, develops a new theory of totemism and refreshes the current perspective of ancient religion. The structural and psychoanalytical interpretation of Chinese myths, instead of historical way, is the creative methodology of the essay. It leads to a transitional pattern of King's identity and a new concept "totem mind", based on Oedipus Complex and the object relation theory.Bone inscriptions offered information about (1) the truth of witch-burning rite. It was female slaves rather than the witches that were burnt for rain; (2) the ancient belief in heaven. Di was not only regarded as omnipotent father, but also closely related to the origin of the group. Yet, he was finally murdered in myth by his subjects, who were extremely in fear of his indifference. The dualism of Heaven-Father lifted ancestors to the ultimate position, and left Di drowned in the negative totem mind. The dualism of Heaven-Father is the threshold of secularization and moralism. A comparative study represents the development and the political advantage of ancient Chinese religion.
