On Ethnic Origin's Myth-Rite And State Power

Every ethnic group has its own history, tradition and culture as well as its cultural elements, which builds on such basses above. It is a long tern process coming from below. Relatively speaking, modern national state is an object appearing during the past few years, and it is a building process coming from above for state power and mainstream of culture. Based on huge amount of field studies about"Three Inland Myth"and the rites of"Ha Festival"of Jingzu in Wanwei village, this paper records various editions of ethnic origin's legends and the hold process of the rites of"Ha Festival", which reveals logical changes of ethnic origin's myth of JingZu and its cultural connotation. It also analyzes ethnic utterance that conceals behind the rite of"Ha Festival", and then sums up the relationship between ethnic origin's myth and rite. Finally, it puts forward two ways of interaction—"Blurred Border"strategy,state power, ethnic origin's myth and the rite of"Ha Festival".The main body of this paper contains five parts. Part I is the introduction, which makes a summary of some relative theory retrospection, and the origin, purpose, significance and methodology of the research. Part II makes a simple description of the location of field study. Part III records various editions of local ethnic origin's myth in detail, and analyzes their logic changes and cultural connotation behind them. Part IV records the rite of"Ha Festival"in Wanwei village and the ethnic utterance that conceals behind the rite of"Ha Festival". Part V is the conclusion, which combines ethnic source's legends with the rite of"Ha Festival"and elaborates their relationship, then analyzes religious belief interact to state power under modern background.
