On Wu Mi Literary Concept

Wu Mi is the famous Chinese Classical poet, the New Humanism scholars, a famous professor, in 20th century. multiple roles make its literary theory thoughts unique. This paper combinated of background of Chinese literature modernization and study WuMi's Literary theory thoughts from the the two dimensions of the Perspective: Conservatism and modernization of Chinese literature.Wu Mi was typical scholars who affirm his own cultural ideal in the 20th century.However, radicalism dominated discourse power in the "May Fourth" New Culture Movement , so,his relatively conservative literary theory thoughts couldn't form a powerful force which have hindered the historical changes in the development of literary theory.After the founding of New China, instrumental rationality has been further strengthened, occupied the whole social and cultural dominance of consciousness, Wu Mi's literary theory thoughts is rejected. Until late 80s of last century, with Review and Reflection on the success and failure of Chinese New Literature building, more and more scholars started to concern and researched Wu Mi's thoughts , and made many excellent theoretical results. In this paper, I want to study WuMi's literary theory thoughts from theoretical and practical respects. Based on this idea, the paper is divided into the following sections:Introduction: it introduces Wu Mi's life and work. It includes the introduction of theoretical situation of Wu Mi's allegories and also points out the significance and research method of the study.Chapter One :mainly introduces the source of the theory of Wu Mi's ideas. Wu Mi is both good at Chinese culture and Western culture, the formation of his literary theory thoughts is under the influence of Western classical philosophy,which includes Ancient Greek Philosophy and New Humanism. charity thoughts of Confucianism is another factor that affects the formation of WuMi's literary theory thoughts.the former provides a contact for Chinese classical culture and world culter the latter provides interpretation for the modernization of Chinese Literary theory .Chapter Two: Mainly study WuMi's literary theory from the Perspective of Conservatism ,it is divided into two parts, the first part is focus on the moral idealism which reflects in Wu Mi's Literary theory .The second part is focus on value orientation of Wu Mi's Literary theory, that is weed throught the old to bring forth the new.Chapter Three: Mainly study WuMi's literary theory from the Perspective of the modernization of Chinese literature. Comparing with New Culture, to find out their differences in theory of Chinese literature , which reveals the value of WuMi's literary theory thoughts. It is divided into three parts, the first part is the comparison of theoretical basis, that is construction of Chinese New literary theory is depended on Evolution or idea of compromise; the second part is comparison of the literature values, the construction of a new Chinese literary theory make pelope to be desire or to be noble. The third part is purpose of Chinese New literary theory , that is the construction of a new Chinese literary theory is for politics or for life.Chapter Four :Mainly study the value of Wu Mi's literary theory , reveals its importance for Chinese New Literature building.Chapter Five: Mainly pointed out the defects of WuMi's literary theory thoughts,that is adhering to the ideal and the loss in the reality is main reasons which caused by the painful life of Wu Mi.
