Kgal Laox is one kind of Dong language songs, and Chinese translation for DaGe, which has been called DongZu DaGe in the circle of Ethnomusicology. It is popular in the the second dialect area of the southern dialect regions of Dong language. This thesis made Zaidang village of Rongjiang County in Guizhou Province as field research point to explore the heritage of Kgal Laox in the contemporary social change. And I hope the thesis can provide an in-depth observation case of non-material cultural heritage protection.Zaidang village is located in fringe of"Jiu Dong Cultural Areas"of the second dialect area of the southern dialect regions of Dong language. Since the 60s of the 20th century, with the changes in values, and many young people of Zaidang have to go out to study or work. The original social structure gradually disintegrated, Kgal Laox has been gradually fading down, and during the Cultural Revolution it did not escape this great disaster. Until the 80s, Kgal Laox once goes through a great recovery. After 90s of the 20th, with the working wave and the influx of TV, VCD and other media to Zaidang village, Kgal Laox began to decline. September 2000, the Dong Han Bilingual Education Cooperation Project started in Zaidang village primary school. Since then, Kgal Laox in this village has been another recovery.Since 2004, the relevant departments of State attach great importance to Kgal Laox. Kgal Laox becomes the first choice for a variety of major cultural entertainment program. A number of outstanding GeShi make appearances in the official cultural activities. Can a kind of culture survive for generations, which is determined by the people of the culture. The government's policy only has impacts in some degree. Local "intellectuals" not only have "initiative", but also the right decision. This formulation of the thesis: Firstly, start from the history and social structure of the village to explore the traditional heritage ways of Kgal Laox and its characteristics. Secondly, making ethnography narration of the local GeShi's interpretation by the type of "deep thinking" to search for underlying causes of Kgal Laox from prosperity to decline. Thirdly, the analysis of the inheritance mode and "renaissance" of Kgal Laox in the new century, make the view back to "local community". Reiterated "the government identity" through a "global" analysis, that is the comparative analysis of inheritance of Kgal Laox in Zaidang village, and further emphasize the main conclusion of this research: The protagonist of cultural inheritance is the local "intellectuals".
